How 6–9-year-olds read
In the first school years the child learns to read, and a love of reading makes a big difference. A book where the child is the main character is a strong reason to read one more page. The stories for ages 6–9 have more text, dialogue and a plot with a clear challenge: a riddle to solve, a friend to help, a mission to complete. The language is richer, but the sentences are still a manageable length for someone reading on their own.
